Activist Kevin J. Burns Looks Back on a Lifetime of Service
On March 25, AIDS Fund Philly will award the Fierce and Fabulous Award to Kevin J. Burns, the longtime Executive Director of Action Wellness, who will retire later this year. Burns started in 1986 as a volunteer buddy with the group then known as ActionAIDS, and 34 years later will graciously step aside with decades of public service under his belt. He plans to travel the U.S. with his husband and puppies, pursue volunteer work with political campaigns, and eventually return to being a volunteer buddy with Action Wellness.
